About the Pit Master:
Bubba G (Glenn) is a native of Detroit, Michigan with deep southern roots. His family for 4 generations hail from the Appalachians of North Carolina, but his many travels have taken him all over the deep south and the world. His love of BBQ was first sparked as a boy, hanging out at Joe's Rib Shack in the Motor City helping clean and do preps in exchange for free cooked ribs & pulled pork. The fire was truly ignited (so to speak) after attending the "Memphis in May" 10th anniversary festival in 1986 while stationed in Millington, TN. in the U.S. Navy. Since then, he has sampled and cooked BBQ across the country, and overseas in both the south Pacific and Mediterranean. Having cooked mainly for family gatherings and at the request of friends, in 2015 he invested in his 1st competition smoker. In 2016 he will begin competing with his Custom Pits and Fabrication A1 smoker.
